In Pharmacology, using Telemedicine software, without waiting for an appointment, patients can see a doctor and doctor can give treatment. Patients can consult a physician comfortably from their home. The concept of telemedicine could be still new to providers and physicians given the slow adoption of technology in healthcare.

However, due to continue advance in the technology innovation, this healthcare expands according to the usability. Moreover, it’s a matter of providers, medical group, and health care system to make telemedicine a part of their medical services. In the nursing, there is a potential to expand the role of a pharmacist services, using telemedicine. Telemedicine is also defined as the remote delivery of health care services. The role of Telemedicine in Pharmacology is interaction with residents, nurses and to enhance pharmacists within the nursing facility.

The 3 types of telemedicine

·         There are 3 common types of telemedicine- Remote Patient Monitoring, Interactive Medicine, Store and Forward.

  •          Remote Patient Monitoring – Allows remote caregivers to monitor patients who are at their home, by using mobile to collect data.
  •          Interactive Medicine – Allows communication between patients and physicians while maintaining HIPAA compliance.
  •          Store and forward – gives permission to providers to share patient information in another location with a practitioner.
